Witches Against Religious Discrimination, Inc. (WARD) request that all Pagans, Witches and Wiccans protest the state of Wisconsin's Senator's, Representatives, Assembly Members and Governor.

We make this request due to the fact that the Waupun Correctional Facility hired Jamyi Witch as the state's first Wiccan Chaplain. She is the first Wiccan Chaplain (paid) in the United States within the Department of Corrections.

After her hire, Rep. Scott Walker (R-Wauwatosa) has stated that he is considering eliminating funding for her position, which is also supported by Rep. Michael Huebsch (R-West Salem) and to pass legislation that would promote hiring Chaplains that were of the same faith as the majority of the inmates. He claims that the hiring of Jamyi Witch has both personal and political concerns because her faith offends many other religions such as Christians, Muslims and Jews.

If we as Pagans, Witches and Wiccans allow this possibility to go unchecked by our legislatures in any state, we will be guilty of allowing our rights to be taken away from us. If we are not allowed the opportunity to work due to our religion, what else will we not be allowed to do?

This is a time of action! Jamyi Witch, the Waupun Correctional Facility and every Pagan in this country needs your support, strength and courage to stand up to this behavior being presented by the legislatures of Wisconsin.

Please go to our web site at http://www.ward-hq.org/letter.html to send your letter to the Wisconsin representatives and to show your support to the Waupun Correctional Facility.

We need your assistance in stopping this open and public act of religious discrimination. Be proud to be Pagan, Wiccan and/or a Witch. Don't let this be the first step of us all losing our rights to practice freedom of religion! Act today! Our goal is to have 100,000 e-mails, faxes and phone calls go out to these offices. Let your voice be heard through out all of America.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this issue.
