Putting the Magick in your Garden
What makes a garden magickal or not? If you choose your plants with magickal intent ( the line between magick and food use blurs a lot for the kitchen witch!), you are well on your way :) When you infuse your plant friends with magickal energy from the very beginning and through their growing processes, you are creating very magickally potent tools!

Start with a seed blessing ritual. One of the best times is Ostara, but it can be done whenever you start your planting (some plants need to be started indoors before then to get a running start on Spring).
After your seeds are blessed,
follow the basic guidelines for "planting by the moon" (some plants
will vary from this): Generally, 1st and 2nd quarters are good for planting
above ground crops, and 3rd and 4th quarters for below ground crops. The new
moon is the best possible time for planting. You can use crystals and stones
to energize your plants, paint or draw magickal runes on your flower pots,
on markers, or in the soil, as well as on your watering pail!
Bless your plants with a mini-ritual every full moon during the growing season.
